Even the hockey sticks are organized

This was an extremely well run, well organized, and friendly camp. I don't think there was anything the coaches or coordinators wouldn't have done for anyone who asked. Troy Ward really put on a great camp! The quality of the coaches was also outstanding. I mean, how often do you get skating tips from the skating coach who's worked for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Anaheim Ducks, and Pittsburgh Penguins?

Just a cheeky example of the organization is the placement of our hockey sticks in the locker rooms. No piles of hockey sticks being knocked over by the kids, unlike normal!

National Championship teams

Shattuck-St. Mary's boasts numerous National Championship hockey teams. Here's a pic of the '02-'03 team, which included Sidney Crosby (2nd one from Right in first row).

Rooster?

One of the dad's found a pinata that looked just like Rooster. Rooster is the off-ice coach. All the kids had a great time beating Rooster with a stick! ;-)

Sweaty dad's + kids

Here's some random pics of all of us looking sweaty after the fun, and educational, skating sessions.

Locker rooms

Troy was very specific about how we treated the high quality locker rooms. He taught everyone the tradition of where each piece of equipment is placed/hung. This process had an additional purpose (besides respect) to ensure the equipment had the opportunity to dry-out in between skating sessions.

Cafeteria - or Mike's filling station

Here is the cafeteria. The food was very good, and plentiful, which was important because we all had huge appetites after skating 3 times a day and having off-ice training! I'm fairly certain the camp lost money on Mike McMahon's transaction just due to the giant number of Gatorade's he drank each day (at one sitting it was 10)!

Dormatory life

Here's the entrance to Whipple Hall, where our dorm rooms were located. I've also included a pic of our dorm room (slightly messy). With no air conditioning, it's vitally important you bring a fan (notice one sitting on right desk). I'd really recommend two fans!

Shattuck-St. Mary's School

Troy Ward's Hockey & Sons Skills Camp is held at Shattuck-St. Mary's Prep School in Minnesota. The picture is the main buildings on campus. We christened the school 'Hogwarts' due to the age (1870's) of most of the buildings, and the English architecture influences.
